A mouth-watering Southern classic made healthier with perfectly seasoned, golden-crispy catfish fillets kissed with bright lemon pepper in your air fryer.

Main CoursesEasy

Ingredients

4 fillets catfish fillets
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
as needed cooking spray
4 wedges fresh lemon wedges

Cooking Instructions

  1. 01

Pat catfish fillets dry with paper towels and soak in buttermilk for 10 minutes to tenderize.

  2. 02

In a shallow dish, combine cornmeal, flour, lemon pepper seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Mix well.

  3. 03

Remove catfish from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge each fillet thoroughly in the seasoned cornmeal mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

  4. 04

Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.

  5. 05

Lightly spray air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place catfish fillets in a single layer without overlapping.

  6. 06

Spray the tops of fillets lightly with cooking spray. Air fry at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 145°F.

  7. 07

Remove catfish from air fryer and let rest for 2 minutes. Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges and enjoy the crispy perfection!

The Caprese Salad Skewers recipe was a triumph! I prepared them for a party's barbecue and everyone loved them. The basil was so aromatic, the mozzarella so fresh, and the skewers were the perfect size and an appropriate.
